As one can expect, LG G4 continues the trend set by the second generation G smartphone with rear-mounted volume rockers and power button. However, the overall design has been refined a bit. The smartphone is very slightly curved and this tweak in the design is said to improve the handling and rigidity by 20%.
If you were expecting the LG G4 to feature a metal body then you will be left disappointed. The G4 has a polycarbonate body that contributes in keeping the weight of the device in check. LG’s latest flagship smartphone measures 149.1 x 75.3 x 8.9mm, which is compact for a 5.5” device.

The LG G4 sports a 5.5-inch Quantum LCD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and accounts to a pixel density of 534 ppi. The screen to body ratio is about 74.3%. here’s also a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 4 to protect the panel from scratches and minor sniffs. The South Korean manufacturer claims that the new display is about 25% brighter, 50% higher in contrast and product 20% wider color reproduction than the G3.
Under the hood, there’s a Snapdragon 808 chipset with a 1.8GHz hexa-core processor and Adreno 418 GPU. The international version of G4 comes with 3GB of RAM and will have 32GB of inbuilt memory. Furthermore, you can expand the storage capabilities up to 128GB by adding a microSD card.
The camera on the G4 has seen some improvements. For starters, the device now features a new 16 megapixel sensor with a wide f/1.8 aperture that allows the camera to receive 80% more light than the 13 megapixel shooter on the G3. The camera is equipped with dual color color spectrum sensor which reads RGB light and infrared light that can automatically adjust color temperature, white balance for more natural photos, laser autofocus module and optical image stabilization (OIS 2.0) to help you capture some high quality images.

The rear camera on the G4 is capable of recording videos at 2160p@30fps and 1080p@60fps. The G4 is capable of shooting panoramas up to 104 megapixel. LG is pairing an 8 megapixel front facing snapper with the primary unit. The selfie shooter on the front brings a new state of art ultra-thin IR filter on board.
LG G4 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with a layer of LG UX 4.0 skin on top. The UI comes with a host of new features along with some of the company’s proprietary software like KnockCode, Knock On and health app.


On the connectivity front, the LG G4 features Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, A2DP, LE, apt-X, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, IR blaster and FM radio with RDS. LG G4 supports a wide range of LTE bands across the globe with Cat 6 speeds (300Mbps downlink and 50Mbps uplink).
You can now wirelessly charge your LG G4 with Qi-enabled wireless chargers. The juice of the smartphone comes from a 3,000mAh battery, which is removable and yes, it is equipped with fast charging technology. According LG, you should be able to charge your phone by up to 60% in just about 30 minutes.
